I enjoyed this post, I also think Yelp will be one of the great survivors of the Web 2.0 bubble. The reason being, in my view, that they provide value incremental to the social network itself.

I'm optimistic that Yelp will be the urban yellow pages of the future.

a filter would be PERFECT, especially if you could filter by the age of the reviewer.
either way, i've enjoyed what i've seen so far on yelp much more so than places like zvents and citysearch.

As usual, Mr. Walker has his finger on the pulse of online trends. Not bad for a dude who's old enough to have personally seen Dylan unplug at the Newport Jazz Festival back in the day.

Thanks for keeping it real with honest and candid feedback -- right in the spirit of what the Yelp concept is all about. Beyond the buzzwords of the day ("wisdom of crowds", "web 2.0", "community generated content") as the newbie at Yelp, I can honestly say that there is something special going on here based on keeping it real: "Real People. Real Reviews." as we call it around here.

[Granted, the team here may not be old enough to remember the '80's TV show named Real People. How's that for a blast from the past? 5 bonus points if you can name any of the hosts other than Skip Stephenson.]

Keep on blogging, Jeffrey.
